SwaraLipi is a Carnatic music notation editor designed to let you focus on creating and practicing music. Let the app figure out where each swara fits within the taala.
At the heart of SwaraLipi is its Taala-Aware Editor. Configure the Taala, Jaathi and Nadai, and the editor automatically places swaras into the appropriate beats and angas as you enter your notation. An intuitive notation keyboard makes entering swaras fast and natural, with support for speed changes including double and quadruple speeds.
SwaraLipi supports both Kriti and Kalpana Swara notation. Create compositions section by section—such as Pallavi, Anupallavi and Charanam—and build and organize Kalpana Swara passages around their melodic lines.
Extensive Taala and Nadai Support:
SwaraLipi supports 38 Taala/Jaathi combinations:
• 7 Suladi Taalas with 5 Jaathis — Tisra, Chatushra, Khanda, Misra and Sankeerna -- with 5 Nadais
• Tisra, Khanda and Misra Chaapu Taalas
You can also create Tisra, Khanda and Misra nadai versions of an avarthana or an entire section, allowing you to explore rhythmic variations without manually rebuilding the notation.
Practice with the Teleprompter
Turn your notation into a large, continuously scrolling display using the built-in Teleprompter. Select the notation you want to practice and let it scroll across your iPad in large, readable type—so you can concentrate on singing or playing rather than turning pages or navigating the screen.
Export and Share
Export your notation to Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF. You can also use the standard iPad Share options to email your notation, AirDrop it, or send it through other compatible apps installed on your device.
